Greenspirit
was inspired by the name of an acupuncture point on the Heart meridian, qing ling, suggesting corporeal and spiritual renewal.

Qing (pic) refers to the soothing hue of plants, offering nurture, healing, beauty and spirit in the garden and in the wild.

Ling (pic) refers to offerings made to the deities or the ancestors, for rain to replenish the earth.

Together they point to spiritual regeneration. Chinese medical theory says, the Heart stores the spirit, and is the root of life. We want to share our gratitude for learning, sharing, and constant renewal.

Diane Lade

, RMT, Guild Certfied Feldenkrais practitioner, has been studying and teaching movement for over 30 years, in the fields of yoga, bodywork and somatic education. In the Feldenkrais Method, she came to recognize a profound potential for personal and professional fulfillment. Diane is particularly excited about the self-reliance that grows from enhancing your ability to sense for yourself. She works with individuals to find out what you’re doing that perpetuates patterns of pain, and to learn to feel the skeletal support that leads to more satisfying action.

She is interested in helping folks expand and refine their use of themselves in whatever they do.

I share what I’m learning in my own process of becoming more present and living life with less compulsion and more choice.

Her background also includes professional training and teaching experience in Massage Therapy and Yoga. Her interests and activities include art, photography, spiritual practice, gardening and family life.

Additional Background

Diane has been in private practice in Victoria since 1982.

Her first explorations were in yoga studies, from 14 yrs old, with Janaki Arnet in Toronto. She spent time both attending programs and doing service at Kripalu Yoga Ashram, Sumneytown, Pa, and at Kripalu Yoga Retreat, Summit Station, Pa, where she completed a Yoga Teacher Training, 1977. A second Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga Centre Toronto, 1979, exposed her to many yoga paths and types of therapies. She taught for the Centre and privately in Toronto. Some years of office/accounting work and service industry jobs gave her an appreciation for different walks of life.

She attended Sutherland-Chan School of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Toronto, 1981-2, and moved to British Columbia to start her practice at the Victoria Stress and Pain Centre, a multi-disciplinary clinic with a wholistic approach including acupuncture, couselling, biofeedback and bodywork. She taught yoga classes, massage and baby massage courses to the public through Camosun College, YM-YWCA, and privately .

After travels and studies in China and South America (family in tow) she enrolled in the Vancouver Feldenkrais Professional Training 1993-1997, with Jeff Haller, educational director.

Diane began teaching Awareness Through Movement classes in 1995, and from 1997-2004 as a Continuing Education instructor at University of Victoria. She has presented several Professional Development workshops to registered massage therapists.

Between Heaven and Earth
workshops and classes (2002-2003) were a joyous collaboration with Belly-dance teacher Goldean Abbadon-Lowe, diving into dance and Awareness Through Movement.

Diane further enriched her personal and professional growth while participating as a supporting volunteer in the Victoria Feldenkrais teacher Training program, 2003-2007. She kept her hand in at massage therapy most recently completing a series of professional locums during 2003-2007.

She maintains a private practice in Functional Integration and Awareness Through Movement classes and workshops, and likes to speak to groups whenever she can.
